Following an announcement this fall about being invited by NRC Canada to attend the ‘2015 EUREKA - ACQUEAU Cluster Forum in Paris, France’, GREENLAND®, in association with renowned university research institutes, municipalities and NGOs from Canada, Sweden and France, is invited to submit a landmark proposal. The Canada-Europe project (3,045K€ total budget) is being co-led by Lund University (http://www.lunduniversity.lu.se) and 4ITAB (http://www.4itab.com). Development of the Internet-of-Things (IoT) watershed management platform will also include strategic support from the Sweden Water Research Centre; Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI); Scania Municipalities Association; AEGIR (France); and, METEO-France.
The goal of the collaboration is to develop a web-based flood forecasting, flood control and floodplain mapping system for municipality managers and regulatory agencies. It will be used to identify real-time solutions that can minimize mixed rural/urban watershed flood damages and help prevent loss of life from future disasters. The new IoT system can also be used anywhere in the world and include an early warning flood forecasting tool; urban drainage system impact assessment tool; Low Impact Development (LID) mitigation tool; and, powerful visualization tools connected to a new georeferenced HEC-RAS floodplain mapping program. The water sector world-wide benefits from the deployment of new solutions for flood control, decision support and quick market access for water technologies. Development of the IoT system will therefore also rely on proprietary GREENLAND® hydrology, storm water management and LID tools. From the outset, the Canada-Europe team will consult with property-casualty insurers in order to integrate an open/transparent system framework that can address climate impact concerns. So far, three (3) regional-level municipal governments in Canada, Sweden and France have agreed to participate. Other public agencies will be invited next year. To-date, written support for the Canadian pilot region has been received from the County of Simcoe (Ontario); University of Guelph; Communitech Corporation; and, University of Waterloo Interdisciplinary Centre on Climate Change (IC3) and Partners for Action (P4A) network. Finally, the software engineering firm ‘Civil-GEO’ (http://www.civilgeo.com) from the U.S. will also participate and team directly with GREENLAND®.
After an invitation, GREENLAND® met with the Canada/U.S. International Joint Commission (IJC) in Washington, D.C. and specifically about the CANWET™ decision support system. GREENLAND® presented its current Canada/U.S. project partnerships and provided an update about its CANWET™ initiatives in the Lake Erie Watershed. This lake is part-of the Great Lakes Basin and is a high priority for water quality protection by both governments. The presentation was positively received and included GREENLAND® projects for Environment Canada and Ontario First Nations.
The video link below was included in the GREENLAND® presentation. It shows historical (and calibrated) phosphorus load results for 1 of 50+ catchments within the Thames River Watershed in Southern Ontario. The “Month/Year” counter in the upper left hand corner of the video shows the impacts from not only a ‘Hot Spot’ (or spatial) mapping perspective, but also temporally in terms of seasonal load impacts – including winter-thaw and spring-freshet events. The video’s core colour schemes used to illustrate seasonal load impacts are: 1) Green = ‘good’, 2) Red = ‘not-good’; and, 3) Purple = ‘very poor’. The Purple colour also represents a phosphorus load “4 times larger” than the Red colour. Finally, the loading units are kg/yr Per Grid Cell or kg/yr/900 m2.. The video also depicts phosphorus loads from only land use runoff sources. That is, phosphorus load contributions from septic systems, point sources, groundwater contributions, animals and other CANWET™ modeled nutrient sources are not shown in order to just highlight seasonal/cumulative impacts from only land use runoff. However, all other phosphorus load sources can be depicted using the latest CANWET™ output data visualization tool and which can accurately track/locate nutrient loads from a calibrated CANWET™ model.
After a competitive process, GREENLAND® and Dillon Consulting (Canada) are retained by the County of Simcoe (Ontario) to complete a ‘Septage and Landfill Leachate Disposal Feasibility Study’.
As a result of extensive Master Servicing Plan and Environmental Assessment experience with water supply, wastewater treatment and fuel supply infrastructure related projects, GREENLAND® and Stragis Environmental Services are invited by Ontario municipalities and First Nation communities, respectively, to implement a unique “Pay for Performance” PPP (Public-Private Partnership) business model. This approach was developed by the GREENLAND® Group and will be used next year for a few high-profile projects. Future announcements will be made later on. Finally, the November 3, 2015 passing (Royal Assent) of Ontario’s Bill 66 (An Act to Protect and Restore the Great Lakes - St. Lawrence River Basin) includes a watershed-wide cumulative impacts and climate adaptation/ecosystem focus. The GREENLAND® - PPP business model can also address key environmental protection requirements of the new legislation.
GREENLAND® and Clearflow Enviro Systems Group (Canada) execute a joint venture agreement. Discussions have also been initiated with another (3rd) niche technology “disruptor” to participate in the GREENLAND® - Clearflow (http://www.clearflowgroup.com) design-build partnership. The joint venture will focus on municipally-owned/operated stormwater management facilities, as well as a transportation corridor (highway and rail) and resource (mining and pipeline development) projects that require sediment runoff control during construction activities and the implementation of other cost-effective surface water treatment systems.
GREENLAND® is invited by developer groups and golf course communities to provide environmental assessment, engineering design and construction management services for new development phases, as well as a new water supply and wastewater treatment infrastructure systems. This work also includes cumulative watershed effects modelling to ensure that the urban growth does not impact the receiving river systems, and specifically water chemistry, temperature and stream bank erosion, while also having regard for climate impact factors.
GREENLAND® is invited by the Government of Chile and regional universities to present at a National Conference about decision support system collaborations using an integrated cumulative environmental impact, ecosystem-based, water infrastructure and climate adaptation focus. This first visit in November allowed GREENLAND® to meet many potential partners that were interested in the GREENLAND® suite of predictive modeling tools and the company’s project partnership model. Following its return to Canada, GREENLAND® was immediately invited by the Chilean agencies, universities and private companies to partner on a few high-profile projects. Full support for the GREENLAND® initial conference attendance and concurrent business development mission was provided in advance by the Government of Canada and Province of Ontario.
GREENLAND® is invited to present at the “2015 American Water Resources Association (AWRA) Lightning Talks” conference in Denver, Colorado. In an increasingly stressed environment, human impacts considered in isolation are no-longer an adequate management strategy. The GREENLAND® presentation discussed solutions that apply a cumulative effects based approach. To accomplish this, GREENLAND® presented an environmental ‘big-data’ management structure crossing political and jurisdictional boundaries. However, this approach requires cooperation and coordination between authorities. New decision support tools were also discussed by GREENLAND® and capable of effectively utilizing ‘big-data’ to benefit from the use of access channels to externally housed sources. Appropriately, centralized data access will also streamline modelling processes by eliminating the need to recreate data source consolidation and pre-processing procedures in isolation. The GREENLAND® presentation explored new challenges attributed to centralized data access models. Beyond the non-trivial task of amalgamation of existing ‘open-data’, new complexities were also discussed and when considering integration of private and sensitive sources. Finally, GREENLAND® also provided timely answers to these questions – How do competing interests affect the degree of data availability? At which point is it justified for data to shift from the private domain to open – or to partially-open (need-to-know basis)? Can the benefits of accessing a cumulative effects model provide sufficient incentive to disclose vital information into the hands of regulators?

In August, GREENLAND® financially supported the “Stratford Perth Community Foundation” and attended an evening at the Huron County Playhouse in Grand Bend (Canada). The show was called the "Legends of Rock ‘N’ Roll" and was an amazing experience to meet the cast, tour the theatre and wrap it all up with a delicious dinner on stage. With the GREENLAND® donation, the event raised almost $20,0000 for the Foundation. All proceeds will help provide crucial support for the advancement of the Foundation and the vital role it plays as community investors, endowment builders and leaders in the Stratford, St. Marys and Perth County region. For the 20th year, GREENLAND® was a proud sponsor of the 20th Annual Collingwood (Canada) Mayor's Cup Golf Challenge. All proceeds are provided to the local Special Olympics program and related activities. On August 12th, GREENLAND® municipal infrastructure design and administration staff (with a couple of new family members) held its annual clean-up of Raglan Street in Collingwood (Canada). We adopted the road in 2013 and were the engineers of record when it was reconstructed (in 2011). See attached picture.
Murray Maracle, Sr., a Director of the GREENLAND® Group and Senior Associate with Stragis Environmental Services, joins the Aboriginal Academic Board of Directors that will oversee Canada’s Mitacs Aboriginal Communities Engagement (ACE) Program. At the core of Mitacs programs is the concept of matchmaking between a partner organization and the expertise that is available within Canada’s world-class public post-secondary educational institutions by identifying an issue faced by the partner organization, and deploying students around that issue. Canada’s Aboriginal and Academic communities, working together, thus have the opportunity, through Mitacs, to develop not just closer ties and increased exchanges of knowledge, but to try to address burning social, governmental, and economic issues facing this country. Current Mitacs programs are mainly applied to research-focused technology challenges presented by a company, and program funding rules often serve to limit the opportunity for wider engagements. Other limitations are inherent in many other government-funded programs. The goal of the Mitacs ACE initiative is therefore: (a) to create a new Mitacs program that is able to deploy students not just to try to answer the questions posed by Aboriginal community partners, but to help implement the answers through a collaborative research, engagement and development process; and, (b) to develop a model of funding, participation, and program delivery that can be repeated across Canada, and potentially internationally.
In partnership with the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio (Canada), Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority and other stakeholders, GREENLAND® is awarded funding from Environment Canada to help implement a “Pine River Phosphorus Reduction (PR-2) Strategy”. The project is located in Southern Ontario (first of its kind in Canada) and will be completed by March 2017. The project is also being funded by other local stakeholders and will:
- Form a multi-disciplinary public/private sector team comprised of scientific and engineering specialists in nutrient management, ecology and community outreach and stewardship;
- Identify cost-effective nutrient load reduction opportunities within the Pine River Watershed (located north of Toronto);
- Apply niche watershed modeling tools (including consideration of climate change scenarios), monitoring data and field knowledge to identify nutrient load reduction projects;
- Develop a stream health indicator tool to spatially link land use, stewardship practices and other relevant variables with in-stream aquatic habitat health;
- Reduce the long list of potential project locations using a systematic, open and transparent approach;
- Develop opinions of probable cost for the short listed projects;
- Carry out community outreach work to involve local land owners and stakeholders;
- With an objective of optimizing the use of available funds, implement on-the-ground projects with landowners, other stakeholders and volunteers;
- Monitor completed projects to assess level of benefit (nutrient and soil loss reductions); and,
- Update the watershed modeling tools to reflect changes and re-assess future watershed management needs.
In partnership with the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority (NVCA) and County of Simcoe, GREENLAND® is awarded funding from Environment Canada to implement a “Nottawasaga River Watershed Phosphorus Management Tool”. The project will also be funded by other local stakeholders and completed by March 2017. This landmark initiative will provide the NVCA and 18 member municipalities with the first-ever Internet-based tool in Canada to better understand the various sources of phosphorus in the 3,150 km² watershed and future impacts from regional climate change factors. The new decision support system will also enable users to evaluate the cumulative impacts of new phosphorus point sources and help determine strategies for minimizing nutrient loads, such as targeting stewardship activities, and which will protect the Nottawasaga River and Georgian Bay (Great Lakes Basin).A photo of the Government of Canada announcement held on July 22nd and with Canada’s Minister of Labour (Dr. Kellie Leitch) is attached.

This included the University of Waterloo (Canada) in association with the Centre for Community Mapping (COMAP). Both organizations are partnering now with GREENLAND® to develop the ‘next generation’ of watershed decision support systems and cumulative stress assessment tools, including ISWMS™ (Integrated Science and Watershed Management System). GREENLAND® is invited by the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) to submit a proposal to further develop the ‘THREATS’ watershed monitoring system. THREATS stands for ‘The Healthy River Ecosystem AssessmenTSystem’ tool. The original database program was funded by Environment Canada and private industry sources. The current prototype has been used in Western and Northern Canada for watershed health assessments and received international attention for its contribution to assessing and managing Canadian watersheds towards sustainability. Over the past year, discussions were initiated by GREENLAND® with the Province of Alberta’s Energy Regulator, various Alberta Government agencies and the Oil Sands companies. There is now consensus that a co-ordinated strategic approach is needed to gather, monitor and utilize data for all Alberta watersheds and develop/maintain a real-time Internet-tool on the energy industry’s environmental performance. Also, environmental performance by the Oil Sands companies has not been linked to industry performance measures. Within this industry sector, Cumulative Effects Management (CEM) is a critical capability from both the perspective of the industry and regulators. By also working with COSIA (Canada’s Oil Sands Innovation Alliance), and whose members include all major producers working in the Oil Sands, the expanded THREATS tool by GREENLAND® and as part-of its ongoing ISWMS™ program, will be provided as a GREENLAND® service and information hub for industry members and regulators. The development and implementation of this tool will also be transferable to any other region around the globe. Therefore, the expanded THREATS tool will be applicable to other resource (e.g. mining) and land development sectors operating in other jurisdictions and where the platform could be replicated or expanded. GREENLAND® is invited by the Town of Erin (Canada) to present to the Mayor, Councillors and staff its successful track record in completing science-based environmental assessment projects using proprietary decision support system tools, such as CANWET™ and ISWMS™. Conventional and new wastewater treatment solutions were also presented which gave Town Council and citizens an informative overview of technologies and systems available to treat wastewater. Various topics were presented for the Town of Erin’s specific needs – including, environmental constraints and opportunities; efficiency; odour control; funding options; and, the science of wastewater treatment, engineering and maintenance. The GREENLAND® presentation was positively received. The Town of Erin is the largest municipality in the Province of Ontario without a sewage system and waste water treatment plant and where significant development is planned.
The GREENLAND® Group co-sponsors a new children’s book about the Lake Simcoe Basin, climate change and science-based sustainability principles for new communities in Canada. In addition, a recent condominium high-rise project by Urban Watershed Group is being profiled and which includes the construction of Low Impact Development (LID) technologies and systems for stormwater management. This new book for children ages 7 to 12 years will be released on August 15, 2015. It includes a collection of over 200 intriguing questions from children and answered by experts but then presented in dynamic kid-friendly ways, For the past two years, the authors have been gathering questions about Lake Simcoe, water and life in the watershed. For example, can seagulls get sunburned? Did dinosaurs drink the water in the lake? Are there snakes on Snake Island? And yes - Do fish fart? GREENLAND® is invited by the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) to participate in the upcoming ACQUEAU Cluster forum in Paris France from September 15 – 18, 2015. ACQUEAU is one of the 7 clusters of the EUREKA network. It is also a market and industry driven initiative, joined by more than 26 countries and over 100 companies across Europe and beyond. The organization’s goal is to promote trans-national collaboration for developing innovative projects in water technologies. ACQUEAU supports near water-market projects to facilitate the development of innovative products, process and systems in the water sector. ACQUEAU is the first cluster dedicated to financing water innovations. GREENLAND® and other corporate affiliates are proposing to further develop for global commercialization purposes its proprietary software systems for integrated water use (quantity and quality) and food security initiatives. This partnership would involve other participating EUREKA network countries that also need this system to address climate change concerns and access real-time basin monitoring data. This decision support system will also be linked to the GREENLAND® Team’s new ISWMS™ platform and which will be maintained for global subscription access by new global partners identified at the September 2015 event. GREENLAND® is invited by the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade to explore an international joint venture opportunity with Water & Energy Solutions (WES) Chile. An introductory meeting was held in Toronto as part-of the Toronto Global Forum and during the summer Pan-American Games. WES is a Chile-based design – build engineering company involved in turnkey projects for water and wastewater treatment plants. The firm provides water technology integration, engineering consultancy in water treatment, design and build of water treatment plants for drinking water, desalinization and wastewater, and provides equipment for water treatment. WES is now developing new areas of professional practice for water resources management and groundwater monitoring. WES will explore with GREENLAND® how its Canadian credentials and experience can help WES establish a similar partnership business model throughout the South and Central Americas with public sector agencies and research institutes.WES is also interested to further explore with Stragis Environmental Services (GREENLAND® Group) its community relations expertise with Canada’s First Nations people and how this knowledge can help WES to engage Chilean indigenous communities with new water and clean energy initiatives. Since 2004, GREENLAND® has partnered with the University of Guelph (Canada) on many scientific research and experimental development initiatives. In February, the University renewed its decade long partnership to continue working with GREENLAND® and specifically provide water resources engineering science and GIS (geography) systems expertise to assist the GREENLAND®, University of Waterloo, and COMAP joint venture team. The University of Guelph will work with GREENLAND® on initial projects with a priority Lake Erie (Great Lakes Basin) focus.
GREENLAND® is invited by new client - developer groups to provide environmental assessment, engineering design and construction management services for proposed communities, as well as related water supply and wastewater treatment infrastructure systems. GREENLAND®, in association with the University of Guelph and Wilkinson Insight Incorporated, is retained by Environment Canada to evaluate policy options that can reduce nutrient loadings to Lake Erie from all Canadian sources. This 2-year project will analyze options to primarily reduce phosphorus and with the overall goal of reducing algae blooms in Lake Erie. The project will consider other actions which may contribute to reducing algae (e.g. control of invasive species, etc.). The project deliverables will also include identifying adaptive management strategies for changes to watershed targets; understanding how to best implement phosphorus reduction improvements; and, having regard for wider-scale policy applications to the other Great Lakes.
GREENLAND® is invited by Infrastructure Ontario as a roster consultant to provide engineering services for technical, design and construction management projects over the next four (4) years. The project areas for this Vendor of Record includes Northern Ontario and proposed Ring of Fire (mining) resource and urban development region. Last year, the Ontario Government committed $1Billion to new infrastructure funding for this high priority and economic growth region.
GREENLAND® is retained by the Credit Valley Conservation (Canada) to provide technical support for its ongoing water quality monitoring program, including database management tasks associated with the performance of constructed Low Impact Development projects.
GREENLAND®; is invited by Ontario municipalities to provide peer review services affecting new communities and specifically in the areas of master drainage planning; stormwater management; flood damage reduction; and, contaminant transport to receiving watercourses and freshwater lakes.
GREENLAND® receives a letter of acknowledgement from the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority (Canada) for an initial watershed-wide contract. In March, the company was invited again to provide other technical support in terms of identifying sustainable Best Management Practice (BMP) solutions and examining potential stream and reservoir impacts from a variety of climate impact scenarios – with and without the proposed mitigative (BMP) options
Stragis Environmental Services Inc. and GREENLAND® are invited by the Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation (Canada) to prepare a Master Environmental Plan (MEP). The Six Nations is taking a lead role for its subwatersheds within the Grand River Watershed and ensure the protection of waterway corridors in terms of surface water quantity and quality (e.g. algae/nutrients and bacteria) perspectives. To-date, the Sixth Nations Council and staff have collected biological stream health, water chemistry and remote sensing (mapping) data that will be used by the Stragis - GREENLAND® team to identify long-term and cost-effective solutions for chronic drainage problems. This includes flooding every year of many properties and roadway crossings during spring-snow melt periods. As a leader in resolving environmental issues, the Sixth Nations Council also supports post-secondary student training and technology transfer initiatives with the Stragis - GREENLAND® team and to assist with the field data collection and waterway monitoring programs. This new data will be important for preparing the science-based MEP. Also, the Sixth Nations Council, staff and community members are concerned with the impacts from climate change. Therefore, the MEP will also have regard for these issues and identify solutions using cost-benefit and life cycle costing factors.
GREENLAND® is invited by the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation to join a Canadian First Nation’s delegation that will attend a ‘Climate Change Summit of the Americas - Indigenous Peoples Event’ this summer in Toronto (Canada). It would parallel the by invitation only ‘Climate Change Summit of the Americas’ hosted by the Government of Ontario and in conjunction with the ‘Pan-Am / Parapan – Am Games’. Details about this landmark Indigenous Peoples event will be provided at a later date.
GREENLAND® is invited by the University of Waterloo and Ontario First Nations to support an application to Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) entitled: “Capacity Building In First Nations Communities: Land Use, Land Development, Environment and Duty to Consult”. The project goal is to build capacity in Canada’s First Nations communities with respect to their ability to manage their use of both their traditional and reservation lands. This management will focus on land use consultations under Canada’s (recent) ‘Duty to Consult and Accommodate’ Supreme Court decision; current land use claims; and, land use planning practices with respect to the local environment and including flood protection, source water protection, and cultural outreach. The project will build on the experience acquired in a previous/successful SSHRC Partnership Development grant entitled: "Dreamcatcher: A Web¬ based/Mobile Information System for Aboriginal Land Management, Consultation, and Preservation of History, Culture and Traditional Ecological Knowledge" and recent research involving GREENLAND® about cloud-based environmental information systems supported by FedDev Ontario. Based on this research program, the University of Waterloo will be able to also provide significant research opportunities for students to work with Canada’s First Nations communities in planning, development, and resource management. The project aligns with the mission statement of Canada’s First Nations - ‘To protect, conserve, restore, and increase awareness of the environment affecting First Nation territories’. Therefore, this project will also greatly assist Canada’s First Nation Councils in addressing complex watershed management concerns that include flooding, drought, wetland preservation and climate change.
Andrew Palmer and Donald Moss (GREENLAND®) are invited to speak at the 2015 (March 25 and 26th) Toronto & Region Conservation / International Erosion Control Association (TRIECA) conference in Toronto (Canada). See the attached presentation abstract. TRIECA is Ontario's premier stormwater and erosion and sediment control conference bringing together some of North America's leading experts, influential leaders and distinguished research partners in one event. Together these organizations have a defining role in shaping the future direction of the stormwater and erosion and sediment control industries.
GREENLAND® and Centre for Community Mapping (COMAP) are invited by the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) and KPMG Canada to attend the April “CIA - Climate Change and Sustainability Forum” in Toronto (Canada). The objectives of this by invitation event are to:
- Educate actuarial professionals on sustainability topics (climate change and resource limitations), especially implications for pricing, assets and liabilities valuation, risk management, health and other areas of actuarial practice;
- To expose actuarial professionals to experts in the various risks that impact on the sustainability of the environment;
- To enable actuarial professionals to improve their practice to include impacts of various sustainability risks; and,
- To discuss related public policy issues.
GREENLAND® and COMAP will discuss many industry and government policy benefits arising from an “Internet of Things Economy” in Canada and including an Ontario- cloud based environmental decision support system platform under development with the University of Waterloo and Communitech. As background, there is an explosive increase in demand for delivery of goods and services, complex communication and information, and real-time entertainment experiences. This demand is driving the need for greater access and connectivity to the world around us such that the next generation of commercialization will be driven by data, business analytics and insights. Therefore, there is significant opportunity for Ontario to establish a leadership position via an Internet of Things commercialization. This was seen in the vision for a globally competitive Ontario ‘Super Cluster’ ecosystem detailed in the Ontario Super Cluster Big Data Strategy report (Monitor Deloitte, 2014). The ongoing GREENLAND® joint venture supports an environmental ‘vertical market’ that will not only have regard for climate adaptation concerns but can also be integrated with a broader program involving many Communitech members and which includes other key vertical market streams – such as, transportation, agriculture and insurance. Further details about this landmark program will be provided at a later date.
County of Simcoe
The County of Simcoe is the upper tier government and planning authority for most of the South Georgian Bay – Lake Simcoe Source Water Protection Region. The County, in partnership with its member municipalities, other levels of government, floodplain management agencies and two (2) conservation authorities, also provides leadership through policy, and actively in the restoration and protection of the environmental health and quality of these watersheds. As you know, in order to comply with, and be environmentally proactive with respect to the Province of Ontario’s “Places to Grow” legislation, the County of Simcoe utilized innovative decision support tools such as Greenland’s CANWET™ model. In 2012, CANWET™ was also used by the County to prepare a “Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Visioning Strategy”. To this day, the information in the Strategy’s final report is used by local municipalities, development interests and other stakeholders as a background reference to help identify sustainable development solutions.
This letter confirms the County of Simcoe's commitment of support which includes initially facilitating the introduction of this landmark international collaboration with all 16 local municipalities, other governments (small and large) and other agencies that partner now with the County of Simcoe on land use planning; infrastructure renewal; and flooding risk/damage reduction initiatives.

The Greenland Group (Greenland) was introduced to Communitech in 2013. This letter is to acknowledge the importance of this proactive joint venture and to indicate our strong interest in future project partnerships with Greenland and other network members.
Greenland is now supporting other joint initiatives with Communitech. These leading-edge information technology partners will include other private sector members with the Communitech network, as well as Ontario government agencies and First Nation communities. These projects are intended to develop commercialized products and services involving the Greenland Group and other Communitech partners and to enable new Canada-wide related collaborations.

Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority
The Authority’s mission is to provide leadership in the restoration and protection of the environmental health and quality of Lake Simcoe and its watershed with our community, municipal and other government partners. As a resource management agency, we rely on decision support tools such as Greenland’s CANWET model. It continues to play a key role in informing our watershed management planning decisions in relation to policy development, stewardship priorities and education and communication programs.
